Here is daniel taking apart the top part of the table. He and jess could no longer deny their screwup in cutting parts of the lip to the wrong length. it wasn't much extra work to do, but it affected them as a loss of momentum.

The most embarassing fact about this mistake was that they had made a cardboard mockup of their design before getting the wood cut. The mock-up had the exact same flaw that they duplicated in the wood version. They just hadn't updated their design correctly with what they had learned from the mock-up. despite the lost momentum, they were close to the finished product...
